The Brinkley PTA will meet, Monday, September 11, 2006, at 6:30pm in the Partee Elementary School Cafeteria for the first meeting of the year.
Membership dues are $5.00 per person. All parents, grandparents, teachers and other interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend and join.
GRANDPARENTS’ DAY
We will have Grandparents’ Day at Partee Elementary on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, for Preschool through 2nd grade and Wednesday, September 13, 2006, for 3rd through 5th grade. So all grandparents get ready to see your grandchild(ren) perform. This is just one more of the many avenues Partee Elementary uses to encourage greater parent/grandparent involvement as “partners” in the educational process. Look for more information from the school.

They learn to love.

They learn to like themselves.

They learn truthfulness.

Our first word is Citizenship. Good citizenship is understanding that you have a responsibility to your community, environment and law. You can instill in your child the virtue of citizenship by explaining the difference between good and bad citizenship.

Family fun time is a great time for learning.
Try these activities with your child(ren):
ü The thesaurus game. Choose a page at random in the thesaurus. Announce a word. See who can list the most synonyms. Or, take turns, with each family member adding a synonym that no one has mentioned.
ü Send child(ren) on a scavenger hunt. List things that are easy to find around the house (something round, something that comes from another country).
