      High School Cheer Coach

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Certified Staff Preferred

      Coaching Certification or ability to obtain Coaching Certification.

      Must be available to attend after school practices and all sporting events.

      Must possess effective coaching techniques/skills and thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.

      Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.

      Position Summary:

      The Cheerleading Coach is responsible for choreography and teaching cheer routines to the cheerleading squad. Have the ability to work with teenagers to lead them to success. Be professional, organized and a dedicated Coach. The Coach is responsible for setting and conducting practice times after academic classes and supervising the team at all sporting events and any other activities to promote school spirit.

      Essential Duties:

      Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.

      Instructs cheerleaders regarding the rules, regulations of the sport.

      Observes cheerleaders, during events and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.

      Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of students at all times.

      Monitors the academic performance of cheerleaders to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.

      Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.

      Follows AAA state regulations governing the program.

      Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards cheerleaders, officials and spectators.

      Follows established procedures for supplies and uniforms.

      Stay within the budget when ordering of uniforms/supplies.

      Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, and other related records.
