National Bullying Prevention Month is a month long event to prevent childhood bullying and promote kindness, acceptance and inclusion. In observance of National Bullying Prevention Month, Dr. Stanley Ellis came to C.B. Partee Elementary and spoke to the students about bullying.
Dr. Stanley K. Ellis, also known as Mr. M.I.E., is a Motivator, Inspirer, & EMPOWERER. Dr. Ellis was a first-generation youth who was the product of a single-parent home. He was raised by his mother who only had an 8th grade education. He and his mother were considered "low-income" and they received food stamps, free school lunch, and government food commodities while living in low-income housing (projects) throughout his childhood. Dr. Ellis was, by all standards, an "at-risk", young black male. He grew up in the small, impoverished, predominantly black, segregated, rural community of Holly Grove, Arkansas. However!!! Because of the myriad at-risk factors that comprised his environment, Dr. Ellis knew that he was at-risk as a youth and unapologetically embraces the fact that to this day he is even more at-risk...TO SUCCEED!
Dr. Ellis earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology, a Master's degree in Counseling, both from Henderson State University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Dr. Ellis has worked with thousands of young people over the years through his presentations, training, teaching, counseling, writing, and networking, including his 23 years of service to the United States Army Reserves and Arkansas Army National Guard forces. He continues to focus his energies towards his passion of helping at-risk youth establish and achieve their educational and career goals.
